Title:
OLEFIN-BASED RESIN AND TONER FOR ELECTROPHOTOGRAPHY USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3960664
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject resin having a low melting point, which is necessary for low-temperature fixing, and enhanced compatibility and resin strength, by using a copolymer obtained from an α-polyolefin and maleic acid anhydride and/or a maleic acid ester which was crosslinked with an at least divalent epoxy compound.
SOLUTION: This resin is obtained by mixing a copolymer obtained from a 2-22C α-polyolefin (e.g. ethylene, propylene) and maleic acid anhydride or a maleic acid ester [preferably consisting of structural unit A shown by formula I (R is H, a 1-20C alkyl) and structural unit B shown by formula II and/or formula III (R' is a 1-20C alkoxy) and having a polymerization degree of 20-150] with an at least divalent epoxy compound (preferably an aliphatic diglycidylether, an aliphatic polyglycol-based glycidylether), followed by the reaction of the mixture in the presence of a catalyst (e.g. dibenzyldimethylamine).
