This one-picture fast searching device is provided with a one- picture detecting part 15 detecting the one-picture from read MPEG data with respect to a video memory 11 storing MPEG data and reading it according to an address, a data outputting part 16 extracting the one-picture from read MPEG data according to the detection of the I-picture and outputting it, a one-picture interval holding part 18 obtaining an interval between a one-picture of a last time and the present I-picture, a next one-picture address calculation part 17 calculating the predictive value of a next one-picture address from the address value of the present one-picture and a one-picture interval, and an address control part 13 generating the read address of the memory 11 until finishing reading of the next one-picture from this address predictive value.
