Abstract:
PURPOSE: To obtain an open type cooling tower which can be increased in capacity without an increase in the plane installation area.
CONSTITUTION: An open type cooling tower consists of a tower structure 1, a fan installed on top of the tower structure 1, a water distribution device 4 below the fan, a counterflow and crossflow fills 5 and 6 under the distribution device 4 and a cold-water basin 11 under the fills 5 and 6. Air suction openings 10a and 10b are provided in the sides or the underside of the crossflow fill 6.
