Abstract:
To provide a technique for applying operand analysis with high sensitivity and high selectivity to precipitation of a carrier metal element in a secondary battery.SOLUTION: An operand analysis method for metal precipitation behavior of a carrier metal element at an action electrode of a secondary battery includes: a secondary battery operating step; an evanescent field generating step; and a surface plasmon resonance absorption spectrum measuring step. A second battery in the second battery operating step comprises: an action electrode which includes a metal base material layer having surface plasmon resonance absorption properties, and has a surface composed of a material not alloying with a carrier element; an opposite electrode; an electrolyte contacting the surface of the action electrode and the opposite electrode; and a transparent material layer which is laminated on an opposite surface side of the surface of the action electrode, and has a refractive index causing total reflection with respect to the electrolyte. In the evanescent field generating step, light is made incident from a side of the transparent material layer, in a direction of a side of the electrolyte, in order to generate an evanescent field on the surface of the action electrode. In the surface plasmon resonance absorption spectrum measuring step, a surface plasmon resonance absorption spectrum is measured in the evanescent field.SELECTED DRAWING: None
