Abstract:

PURPOSE: To generate high temperature in the furnace by making high speed blast into the body of the furnace from high speed blowing tuyers provided at an equal distance along circumferential direction, and forming a combustion chamber in the coke layer in front of each tuyer and burning the coke almost complately in the combustion chamber.

CONSTITUTION: Four, for instance, high speed blowing tuyers 13 are provided at an equal distance along the circumferential direction of a furnace. The air 10' for combustion is equally distributed in the blast boxes 5 and blown at a high speed from the high speed blast tuyers 13 into the furnace 1. The fuel coke 6' and materiaals to be molten such as reduced pellets are charged alternately from the top of the furnace to form a layer of raw materials in the furnace, and a bed coke layer 12' made of red heated coke is formed in the lower layer. When blast is blown into the bed coke layer 12 from the high speed blast tuyers 13, a hollow combustion chamber 17 is formed in front of the tuyers. The coke burns completely and effectively in the combustion chamber 17 and high temperature is obtained.
