Abstract:

To provide an operation method for a fuel cell power generation system capable of shortening a starting and the fuel cell power generation system for performing this operation method.

This fuel cell power generation system is provided with a reformer 2 generating reformed gas including hydrogen and a solid polymer type fuel cell stack 1 constructed of a plurality of layered cells. Each of the cells has an electrolyte film electrode coupling body putting an electrolyte film between a fuel electrode including a platinum catalyst and an air electrode and generates electric power by bringing the reformed gas fed from the reformer 2 and air fed from the outside into reaction in the electrolyte film electrode coupling body. The fuel cell power generation system is provided with a temperature sensor 2f measuring a temperature of the reformer 2, a temperature sensor 1a measuring a temperature of the fuel cell stack 1, a current controller 3 temporarily increasing current density of the fuel cell stack 1, and a controller 5 controlling operation of the current controller 3 so that processing for temporarily increasing the current density of the fuel cell stack 1 is carried out when it is determined that the temperature of the reformer 2 and that of the fuel cell stack 1 reach predetermined temperatures in starting the fuel cell power generation system.
