Abstract:

To provide a highly safe ophthalmic composition improved in cornea permeation properties of a water-soluble substance and free from a risk of cornea impairment and irritation.

A cationic surfactant and a lower alcohol are jointly used with a water-soluble substance in an ophthalmic composition, thereby improving cornea permeation properties of the water-soluble substance to give the highly safe ophthalmic composition.
