Abstract:
To provide an optical anisotropic substance and an optical anisotropic substance dry gel which are flexible and have sufficient mechanical strength and toolability.
The optical anisotropic substance consists of a gel wherein a three-dimensional mesh formed by compounding a water-soluble organic polymer and laminar clay menerals contains water. The optical anisotropic substance dry gel is obtained by removing water from the gel wherein the three-dimensional mesh formed by compounding the water-soluble organic polymer and laminar clay menerals.
