Abstract:

To provide an optical component composed of materials that transmit a terahertz wave therethrough, and are unlikely to cause a damage and easily manufactured, and to provide a terahertz wave module including the optical component, and a manufacturing method of the optical component.

The optical component is formed of alumina through which a terahertz electromagnetic wave transmits. A terahertz wave transmits through the alumina. The alumina component has high strength and can be formed by injection molding or powder molding.
