Abstract:
To provide an optical connector and optical connector manufacturing method that can improve assembling workability.SOLUTION: An optical connector comprises: a ferrule unit 2 that holds a first optical fiber extending backward from a ferrule main body 10 in a way connectable to another optical fiber F2; a housing 50 that has a first insertion port 51 allowing insertion of the ferrule unit 2 from the front, and a second insertion port 52 allowing the insertion of the other optical fiber F2 from the back, and houses at least one part of the ferrule unit 2 inside; and a spring S that is housed inside the housing 50, and urges the ferrule unit 2 forward inside the housing 50. The ferrule unit 2 has a flange part 21 that is a portion located on an outermost side in a radial direction in the ferrule unit 2, and the housing 50 has an elastically deformable locking piece 54. In the locking piece 54, an abutting part is formed that abuts on the flange part 21 from the front.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2A
