Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make the insertion loss of an optical device small and to obtain stable performance by using a part of a transparent body substrate as a lens and fitting ferrules in a groove formed in the transparent body substrate and an optical elements in holes. CONSTITUTION:End surfaces of the ferrules 10-1, 10-2 and 10-3 are positioned at the focuses of spherical lenses 30-1, 30-2 and 30-3 respectively. Then the optical film 2A of the optical device is, for example, a filter film, a light beam emitted by an optical fiber 5-1 is made into a parallel light beam through the spherical lens 30-1 and reaches an optical film element 2 through a projection part 27-1. Then light in a selected wavelength range is transmitted through the element 2 to reach the lens 30-2 through a projection part 27-2, and converged on an end surface of a fiber 5-2 through the lens 30-2 to enter the fiber 5-2. Here, light in the other wavelength range which is reflected by the element reaches a lens 30-3 through a projection part 27-3, and is converged on the end surface of the optical fiber 5-3 to be projected to the optical fiber 5-3.
