To provide an optical fiber cable with a connector which can be made compact on the whole, has sufficient strength, and facilitates fusion-splicing work, and the assembling method of the optical connector.
Disclosed is the optical fiber cable with the connector 1 such that the optical connector 1 is assembled in the end of the optical fiber cable 21. The optical connector 1 has a coupling 2, a housing 3, a ferrule 4, and an energizing means 5. The rear end 12b of an incorporated optical fiber 12 inserted into the ferrule 4 is fusion-spliced to the tip end 22a of an optical fiber 22. The housing 3 and optical fiber cable 21 are connected by a heat-shrinkable reinforcing tube 10, and a reinforcing material 11 is filled in the reinforcing tube 10. A tensile-strength body drawn out of the end of the optical fiber cable 21 is fixed in the reinforcing material 11 in the reinforcing tube 10. The reinforcing material 11 is filled from the housing 3 to the optical fiber cable 21.
