To provide an optical fiber cable with excellent operability in the case of taking out a coated optical fiber at a cable middle part capable of narrowing the diameter of the optical fiber cable without raising a cost.
The entire outer periphery of a ribbon of coated optical fiber laminated body formed by laminating plural ribbons of coated optical fiber 1 in which plural parallelly arranged optical fibers 2 are buried in resin and integrated is covered with the bundle of continuous threads 3 and the outer side is coated with a sheath 5. At the time, the bundle of the continuous threads 3 is wound around the outer periphery of the ribbon of coated optical fiber laminated body while cyclically inverting a direction and the separation of the ribbons of coated optical fiber 1 and the continuous threads 3 is facilitated. Also, the ribbon of coated optical fiber laminated body is twisted with a prescribed pitch, the individual movement of the respective ribbons of coated optical fiber 1 is restricted, and even when this cable is repeatedly bent or the like, a lamination breakdown is prevented from being generated and transmission loss increase is prevented. Further, the ribbon of coated optical fiber laminated body is provided with slackness and the extension and contraction of the cable are prevented from reaching the optical fibers.
