Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a mechanism capable of sealing and fixing an optical fiber to an adequate position with a simple operation in an optical fiber sleeve for an optical housing casing.
CONSTITUTION: This optical fiber connecting sleeve has a cylindrical boy 11 extending from the casing and a sealing member 12 for sealing its front end. This cylindrical body 11 is provided with an annular projecting body 15. The diameter of the central circular holes of the sealing member 12 and the annular projecting body 15 are set nearly equal to the diameter of the optical fiber and are so set as to permit the passage of the optical fiber to make it possible to adequately hold the optical fiber. The sealing member 12 is formed out of the tubular body 19 made thin at the front end or a sealing charnier having a projecting body for fitting or this sealing charnier is formed of a pair of split charniers.
