Abstract:
A protection structure for an optical fiber end surface is provided to enable a user to easily implement or remove a transparent optical member by coupling an exit face of the optical fiber with an incident face of the transparent optical member using a protective member. Plural optical fibers(2) emit an incident beam through exit faces thereof. A transparent optical member(3) has a refractive index similar to that of a core material of the optical fiber. The emitted beam from the exit face of the optical fiber is incident on an incident face of the transparent optical member. A protective member(10) is applied between the exit face(21) of the optical fiber and the incident face(31) of the transparent optical member. The protective member prevents the exit face from being attached to the incident face. The incident face of the transparent optical member is greater than the exit face of the optical fiber. The optical fiber and the transparent optical member are detachably attached to each other through the protective member.
