To provide an optical filter switching apparatus in which an operation for switching an optical filter fixing section to setting positions of first and second optical filters is quickly performed, a structure is simplified, and noise and durability characteristics are improved by directly driving the optical filter fixing section wherein daytime and nighttime optical filters are fixed, using an actuator comprising a rotary solenoid.
The optical filter switching apparatus comprises: the optical filter fixing section fixing a first optical filter and a second optical filter; the rotary solenoid which rotates between the first position to retain the optical filter fixing section at the setting position of the first optical filter and the second position to retain the optical filter fixing section at the setting position of the second optical filter; the actuator having a rotational power transmission section located between the shaft of the rotary solenoid and the optical filter fixing section to transmit the rotational force of the rotary solenoid to the optical filter fixing section; and a microprocessor which generates a control signal for controlling the rotary solenoid of the actuator in accordance with an input signal inputted from the outside and the output of video information, so that the rotary solenoid of the actuator is rotated to one of the first and and second positions.
