Title:
OPTICAL INFORMATION PROCESSOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3707804
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To update mutually coupled waits in parallel and shorten a processing time by prescribing an optical path for wait data update which extends from a 3rd spatial optical modulator to a 1st spatial optical modulator in the 1st-3rd spatial optical modulators.
CONSTITUTION: In the in-process state of respective devices 1-5, optical radiation which is made incident on the spatial optical modulator 3 and modulated by the modulator 1 passes through an optical element next and reaches the output device 5 which has a transducer. In a training stage, the device 5 calculates the difference between, for example, an output vector and a target vector as an error. Respective elements of the obtained error vector are used to control the spatial optical modulator of the device 5 and during update, the error vector modulates the optical radiation. The modulated radiation passes through the modulator 1, and consequently the product of the error vector and input vector is obtained. This product is supplied to the modulator 3 to update respective matrixes in parallel. The time required for each updating operation, therefore, becomes nearly equal to the update time of one cell.
