PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To facilitate alignment of the optical axis of a light receiving/emitting element with the optical axis of an optical fiber.SOLUTION: In this optical module device, an installation space in which the light receiving/emitting element is installed and a positioning unit for positioning the optical fiber are formed integrally. The optical axis of the light receiving/emitting element installed using the installation space is aligned with the optical axis of the optical fiber positioned using the positioning unit via the optical module device.
