Title:
OPTICAL RECEIVER
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH10290197
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an optical receiver reducing the influence of optical fiber distributing effect upon light reception sensitivity by bisecting the spread of wavelength spectrum of the optical signal into light on the side of long wavelength and light on the side of short wavelength at the central value of the spectrum.

With a certain wavelength as a border, a light discriminator 1 outputs optical signals while dividing an optical signal with the component having long wavelength to a long wavelength output terminal 9 and an optical signal with the component having short wavelength to a short wavelength output terminal 10. In this case, the wavelength to be this border is set so as to be the center of the spread of the optical wavelength spectrum W. Then, the bisected optical signals are respectively converted to voltage signals by different photodiodes 2 and 3 and preamplifiers 4 and 5 and differentially inputted to the same equivalent amplifier 6. The equivalent amplifier 6 amplifies the input signal to the desired voltage signal. Then, a clock extraction/data identification circuit 7 extracts a clock component from the output of equivalent amplifier 6, identifies data and outputs a clock signal and a data signal.
