PURPOSE: To allow the formation of partial optical recording regions and to prevent the degradation in reflectivity by sticking an optical recording layer contg. an org. dye and org. dye decoloring layer in such a manner that the optical recording layer and the org. dye decoloring layer are stuck to a part of the optical recording layer.

CONSTITUTION: A protective layer 1, a transparent substrate 2 having transparency to writing and reading light, the optical recording layer 3 contg. the org. dye, the org. dye decoloring layer 6 having the effect of decoloring org. dye and a backing substrate 8 are successively laminated. A gap 7 for protecting the org. dye incorporated in the optical recording layer 3 from the org. dye decoloring layer 6 is provided partially under the optical recording layer 3. The part 5 of the optical recording layer 3 where said layer comes into contact with the org. dye decoloring layer 6 is, therefore, the decoloring region of the optical recording layer and the part 4 where the lower layer forms the gap functions as the optical recording region. The optical recording region 4 having a prescribed shape is thereby formed and the degradation in the reflectivity is prevented.
