Abstract:
PURPOSE:To suppress the unevenness of image density based upon the unevenness of exposure and to improve picture quality by setting up the allowable rate of exposure beam dots so that the distribution of exposure energy is uniformed. CONSTITUTION:A He-Ne laser is used for an optical scanning type electrophotographic recording device and an optical beam radiated from the laser 1 is applied and modulated to/by an optical modulator 3 through a modulating optical system 2. A signal generated from a signal generator 4 is applied to the optical modulator 3 by a signal control system 5 and modulating operation is executed in accordance with picture information. The modulation beam modulated by the optical modulator 3 is expanded by a beam expander 6 and deflected by an optical deflector 7 and the deflected beam is applied to a scanning lens 8 to expose and scan the surface of a photosensitive body 9. A part of the deflected light obtained from the optical deflector 7 is applied to a synchronizing system 11 through the lens 8 and synchronized with the control system by the synchronizing system 11. The size variation limits of the diameter a of exposing beam dots on the photosensitive body 9 in the main scanning and subscanning directions are defined as a main scanning size allowable rate alphaN and a sub-scanning size allowable rate alphaS and the size allowable rate with a low scanning speed is set up less than the size allowable rate with a high scanning speed.
