Abstract:
To provide an optical waveguide which is made of a polyimide, is prevented from causing cracking in a lower clad layer and has high reliability.
The optical waveguide is equipped with an under clad layer 3, a core layer 4 disposed on the under clad layer 3, and an over clad layer 5 disposed to cover the core layer 4 on the under clad layer 3. The under clad layer 3, the core layer 4 and the over clad layer 5 are formed of the polyimides and the under clad layer 3 is formed by imidizing a polyamic acid having weight average molecular weight of ≥1.5×105.
