To provide an optometric device with which an eye examination can be done swiftly and appropriately, even when object eyes present suppression.
The optometric device 1 which is provided with a left eye optical unit 6L and a right optical unit 6R and with which the eye examination can be done in a both eye opened condition, can detect existence of the suppression with a detecting means including; a visual target projection optical system 80 which presents cross heterophoric charts CL, CR in the object eyes EL, ER, a binocular fusion frame projection optic system 130 which presents a binocular fusion frame 133a, and a joystick 7 for reporting a visually recognized condition of the cross heterophoric charts CL, CR. When the eyes are under suppression, the optical units 6L, 6R are controlled so as to examine an refracting force of the one object eye in an opening condition while the other of the right and left object eyes EL, ER is put in a masked condition. When the eyes are not under suppression, both eyes are examined in the opening condition as usual.
