Title:
ORBIT CONTROL DEVICE FOR ARTIFICIAL SATELLITE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH06305496
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent correct orbit control from being inhibited due to the dislocation of the spin axis direction caused by the generation of unnecessary torque at the time of orbit control performed by a radial thruster in a spin-stabilizing type artificial satellite provided with only one radial thruster within the plane orthogonal to the spin axis.

CONSTITUTION: In addition to a radial thruster 1, a pair of axial thrusters 2, 3 are provided within the planes parallel to a spin axis 7 and in the positions mutually shifted by 180° in the phase angle in such a way that the jet directions are mutually reverse and that thrust is generated in the direction parallel to the spin axis 7. The spin axis direction is detected by a direction detector 6, and the jet control of these axial thrusters 2, 3 is performed according to this direction so as to generate torque 26 for nullifying unnecessary torque 25.
