Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic EL device having high light extraction efficiency and high illuminance as compared with a conventional device.SOLUTION: A transparent electrode layer 4, when a maximum thickness is represented by Dmax and a minimum thickness is represented by Dmin, is 0.1 or less in (Dmax-Dmin)/(Dmax+Dmin). A reverse-side electrode layer 6 is formed with silver. Between a transparent substrate 2 and the transparent electrode layer 4 is interposed a surface concavo-convex layer 3 having an uneven surface 7 on the transparent electrode layer 4-side surface, the average pitch of the uneven surface 7 being greater than 200 nm and equal to or less than 1 μm, the difference of elevation of the uneven surface 7 being greater than or equal to 200 nm and smaller than the average pitch. The surface concavo-convex layer 3 is formed with a transparent oxide having an intermediate index of refraction between the transparent substrate 2 and the transparent electrode layer 4, and has an average thickness of 1 μm or greater. A portion of a function layer 5 closest to the transparent substrate 2 in the thickness direction is located closer to the transparent substrate 2 side than a portion of the transparent electrode layer 4 farthest from the transparent substrate 2 is.
