The organic EL display is provided with an organic EL element that is formed by stacking functional organic layers having at least a light emission layer between a signal electrode 1 and an scanning electrode 2 that are opposite to each other in a manner to cross each other on a substrate. The signal electrode 1 is provided with a plurality of pixel electrodes 1a arranged like a matrix and a plurality of wiring electrodes 1b to be connected with different pixel electrodes 1a for each row of the pixel electrodes 1a, and at least some of the wiring electrodes are stacked with an insulation layer in between. Multiple scanning electrodes 2 are formed oppositely to pixel electrodes 1a to be connected with different wiring electrodes 1b.
