Title:
ORGANIC ELECTROLUMINESCENT DEVICE, AND ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2010282879
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide an organic electroluminescent device capable of restricting uneven light emission without using an organic functional layer having an even layer thickness.

This organic electroluminescent device includes: an organic EL element 100 holding the organic functional layer including an organic light emitting layer 46 between a pixel element electrode 30 and a cathode 50; a barrier rib 20 provided to surround the periphery of the organic EL element 100; and a reflecting layer 17 provided on a side opposite to the organic light emitting layer 46 with the pixel element electrode 30 between them. The cathode 50 has a semi-transparent reflecting property and structures a light amplifying structure for interfering or resonating the light emitted from the organic light emitting layer 46 with the reflecting layer 17. The organic functional layer has uneven layer thickness in an effective light emitting region flatly overlapped with a region surrounded by the barrier rib 20, and satisfies amplification conditions where an optical distance between the reflecting layer 17 in a part different from the thinnest part of the organic functional layer in layer thickness within the effective light emitting region, and the cathode 50, is computed based on the wavelength of the light emitted from the organic light emitting layer 46.
