Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide the org. nonliner optical material which has the higher quadratic nonlinear optical constant muobeta value than that of the conventional nonlinear optical materials and exhibits an excellent nonlinear optical effect, more paraticularly a high SHG effect by using a compd. expressed by specific formula. CONSTITUTION:The compd. expressed by the formula I is used. In the formula, R1, R2 denote H or 1 to 3C alkyl group; more specifically H, methyl group, ethyl group, propyl group. X is the structure expressed by formula II. The compd. expressed by the formula I includes N, N'-dimenthyl indoaniline, indophenol blue, etc. These compds. are much higher in the mu0beta value than the mu0beta value of the nonlinear optical materials of the conventional org. system and exhibits particularly the high SHG effect and, therefore, lends itself to semiconductor laser light sources, optical modulators, optical switches, etc.
