To provide an original plate for lithographic printing which does hardly allow the non-image part of a printing plate to be smeared with an ink and can rapidly remove the ink smear, even when it occurs.
In this original plate for lithographic printing, a hydrophilic layer for lithographic printing contains a hydrophilic resin which is obtained by making a water-insoluble hydrophilic matrix with a crosslinking structure chemically react with an N-alkyl or an N-alkylene-substituted (meth) acrylamide compound represented by at least formula (1) (wherein, R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; R2 and R3 are each a hydrogen atom, a lower alkyl or a lower alkoxy group) and/or formula (2) (wherein, R1 is a hydrogen atom or a methyl group; A is (CH2)n (provided, however, that n is 4 to 6) or (CH2)2O(CH2)2). In addition, the hydrophilic layer becomes a non-scribed part in lithography.
