Abstract:

To provide an oscillator that can further reduce phase noise of an oscillation signal while improving accuracy of temperature compensation, and further to provide an electronic apparatus and a temperature compensation method for the oscillator.

An oscillator 1 includes: a crystal oscillator 2; an oscillator circuit 10 that is provided with a variable capacitance element 11 and a variable capacitance element 12 and oscillates the crystal oscillator 2 at a frequency in response to a capacitance value of the variable capacitance element 11 and a capacitance value of the variable capacitance element 12; a temperature detection circuit 20; an analog temperature compensation section 110 for generating a first temperature compensation voltage on the basis of frequency temperature characteristics information 72 and a detection signal of the temperature detection circuit 20; and a digital temperature compensation section 120 for generating a second temperature compensation voltage on the basis of temperature compensation information 74 for correcting an error of an oscillating frequency that is a difference between an oscillating frequency temperature-compensated and an oscillating frequency serving as a reference and the detection signal of the temperature detection circuit 20. The capacitance value of the variable capacitance element 11 varies in response to the first temperature compensation voltage, and the capacitance value of the variable capacitance element 12 varies in response to the second temperature compensation voltage.
