Abstract:
To introduce a proper amount of a lubrication oil into an outboard engine easily and quickly.SOLUTION: An outboard engine 1 includes: a drive shaft 9 which rotates in response to rotation of a driving shaft; a propeller shaft 10 which rotates in response to rotation of the drive shaft 9; a gear device 12 which transmits the rotation of the drive shaft 9 to the propeller shaft 10; a drive shaft housing 20 which houses the drive shaft 9; and a gear case 21 which expands to the side below the drive shaft housing 20 and houses the gear device 12. An interior of the drive shaft housing 20 communicates with an interior of the gear case 21. In the drive shaft housing 20, an introduction port 44 for introducing a lubrication oil into the gear case 21 is open. At the front end side of the gear case 21, a confirmation port 53 for flowing out the lubrication oil introduced into the gear case 21 is open.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
