Abstract:
To provide an outboard engine capable of reducing a pressure loss of engine exhaust.SOLUTION: An outboard engine 4 includes: an engine 20; an intermediary exhaust pipe 85; a downstream exhaust pipe 86 connected to the intermediary exhaust pipe 85; and a propeller driven with the engine 20. The engine 20 has: a plurality of cylinders 24 which is serially arranged in a vertical direction; a plurality of exhaust ports 54 respectively extended laterally from combustion chambers 28 of the plurality of cylinders 24; and an upstream exhaust pipe 81 which is connected to the plurality of exhaust ports 54 and downwardly extended. A lower edge section 81A of the upstream exhaust pipe 81 is connected to the intermediary exhaust pipe 85 from above. In the upstream exhaust pipe 81, an upstream section 81B positioned above the lower edge section 81A is downwardly extended in a linear fashion. The lower edge section 81A is arranged closer to the combustion chambers 28 than the upstream section 81B in a horizontal direction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
