Title:
OUTDOOR INSTALLATION HAVING GENERATOR
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3953610
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize natural energy as familiar one by rotatably supporting an outdoor installation such as a monument and a signboard around the vertical rotary shaft, and generating electric power by transmitting rotation of this outdoor installation to a generator through a speed increasing gear.
SOLUTION: A monument 1 vertically stood up/supported on a stand 2 so as to be rotatable with a shaft 3 as the center, is made of an aluminum alloy to reduce the weight, and is rotated with the rotary shaft 3 as the center by wind striking on the monument 1. In this case, the rotary shaft 3 is floatingly supported by a thrust magnetic bearing 5 to guarantee smooth rotation. Electric power is generated by transmitting rotation of this rotary shaft 3 to a generator 4 through a fluid coupling 19 and a speed increasing gear 17 by combining large and small plural gears. The generated electric power is supplied/ accumulated to a battery 21 through a control panel 20 to be supplied to a street lamp and a fountain pump in the vicinity of the monument.
