Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an outer layer material for a hot rolling roll and a composite roll for hot rolling having excellent wear resistance, seizing resistance and surface roughening resistance.
SOLUTION: The outer layer material has a composition containing 2.4-3.2% C, 0.9-2.5% Si, 0.2-1.5% Mn, 0.8-2.5% Cr, 1.2-4.0% Mo, 2.0-7.0% Ni, 1.5-2.7% V, 0.1-0.8% Nb, 0.020-0.2% B, 0.0006-0.040% REM and also contents of C, Cr, Nb and V satisfy the relations: 1.8≤C-(0.236×V+0.129×Nb)≤2.6 and Cr/C<1.0, 3.0≤Cr+V≤4.6 (wherein, C, V, Nb and Cr and content (mass %) of each element) and further the material contains one or two elements selected from a less than 0.05% Ti and a less than 0.1% Al and the balance being inevitable impurities, and a structure contains graphite.
