Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the delay in restoration of a system function after an overload reduction and to quickly return to a normal operation by discriminating overloads into a short term type and long term type overloads, and activating a method of long term type overload reduction only in the case that the level of overloads declared as the short term type overloads exceeds a certain threshold value.
SOLUTION: In an exchanging device 1, message processors 10 and 11, control processors 20 and 21 and network modules 30 and 31 incorporate program controlled processors and execute an overload control program. At the time of response of a system to overloads, the overloads are discriminated into the short term type overloads and the long term type overloads, and different reduction methods are used respectively. Since the method of the long term type overload reduction is activated only in the case that the level of the short term type overloads exceeds a certain threshold value, the overloads are quickly detected and treated, and even when the overloads are reduced, quick detection and treatment of overload reduction are made possible.
