Abstract:
PURPOSE: To provide a new oxazolidin-2-one deriv. having monamine oxidase inhibiting activity and usable in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases.
CONSTITUTION: A compd. represented by formula I [wherein R is H or an alkyl; X is cycloalkenyl or bicyclo[2,2,1]hept-2-yl, bicyclo[2,2,1]hept-5-en-2-yl or adamantyl which may be substd. with phenyl-2-oxo-5-methoxymethyl- oxazolidinyl according to circumstances or cycloalkyl or piperdinyl which may be mono- or poly-substd. with a halogen, amino, alkyl, nitro oxo, hydrocxymino, ethylendedioxy or the like according to circumstances; Y1 is CH or N; and Y2 is CH, C(OH), C(NO2), N or the like], for example, (RS)-3-(4-cyclohexyl- phenyl)-5-methoxymethyl-oxazolidin-2-one is designated. This compd. is obtained by cyclizing a compd. represented by formula II along with a reactive carbonyl forming reagent.
