Abstract:

To provide an oxygen absorbing and desorbing material having a high oxygen absorbing and desorbing ability in a broad range of temperatures including a low temperature, and to provide a catalyst for cleaning exhaust gas which contains the same.

The oxygen absorbing and desorbing material is prepared by mixing a compound comprising Ln2O2SO4 and/or Ln2O2S (Ln shows Lanthanides) and CeO2. The catalyst for cleaning the exhaust gas includes the oxygen absorbing and desorbing material.
