Abstract:
PURPOSE:To decide a degree of progress in deterioration in insulation properly by measuring a frequency of an electromagnetic wave in a specified range to find a distribution of the frequency generated. CONSTITUTION:In a stage where a fine corona spark is caused immediately after a deterioration in insulation of an equipment begins, a frequency of an electromagnetic wave is on the side of a relatively high frequency in a range of about 100 MHz - several GHz. As a deterioration develops, a frequency band width expands to the side of a low frequency, for example, reaching about 10 kHz - several GHz at a state where a tracking starts. So, numerous fine loop antennas 2 are supported on a sensor section 1a of an antenna holder 1 and a sensor connected to a detector with a coaxial cable 3 through a support section 1b, namely, a sensor having an average characteristic with a detection impedance up to about 10 kHz - 1 GHz is used to measure a frequency of about 10 kHz to about 1 GHz. Thus, a frequency distribution of the electromag netic wave generated is found thereby measuring a degree of deterioration in insulation at a high accuracy.
