Abstract:
PURPOSE:To industrially advantageously produce an acetylene alcoholic deriv. by a safe and simple operation by electrolyzing a specified acetylene deriv. in the presence of a carbonyl compd. or paraformaldehyde. CONSTITUTION:A carbonyl compd. represented by formula I or paraformaldehyde is brought into an electrolytic reaction. After the end of supply of electric current, an acetylene deriv. represented by formula II is added and brought into a reaction to produce an acetylene alcoholic deriv. represented by formula III. In the formula II, R<1> is H, 1-10C straight or branched chain alkyl, 3-10C alicyclic group, 3-10C alicyclic group having at least one 1-5C side chain, 2-10C straight or branched chain unsatd. hydrocarbon group which may have epoxidized double bond, aryl, a heterocyclic group, aralkyl or a group represented by formula IV or V (where n is an integer of 2-5 and R<2> is R<1>) and R<1> may have 1-3 halogen atoms, 1-3 lower alkoxy or phenyl groups as substituents. In the formula I, R<4> and R<5> are R<1> in the formula II and they may be different groups or may bond to each other through a methylene group.
