Abstract:
PURPOSE:To make it possible to manufacture the title oxide superconducting coil without generation of defective parts such as cracks and the like by a method wherein a precursor layer of oxide superconducting material on one surface of a tape-like substrate, and the substrate is formed into coil shape in such a manner that the precursor layer will be positioned on the inner circumference, and the precursor layer is converted into an oxide superconducting layer by conducting a heat treatment after the above-mentioned coil-forming work is finished. CONSTITUTION:A precursor layer 3 of oxide superconducting material is formed on one surface of a tape-like substrate 1, the substrate 1 is formed into coil shape in such a manner that the precursor layer 3 will be positioned on the inner circumference, and the precursor layer 3 is converted into an oxide superconducting layer 2 by conducting a heat treatment after the coil-forming work is finished. For example, oxide superconducting powder of 2mum in average grain diameter, having the composition of Y1Ba2Cu3O7-8, is dispersed into acetone, an electrodeposition layer 3 is formed on the substrate 1, with the substrate 1 as the cathode, while the substrate 1 of pure Ni tape form is being travelled inside the above-mentioned material. Then, after the coil-forming work has been finished by winding the substrate 1 on a ceramic spool in such a manner that the side where the electrodeposition layer is formed will be positioned on the inner circumferential side, the substrate 1 is sinered at 950 deg.C for 10 hours in an oxygen gas atmosphere, the electrodeposition layer 3 is sintered, a superconducting layer 2 is grown, and an oxide superconducting coil A is obtained.
