A storage battery 1 with the handle 2 attached on a lid board 1b is housed and packed in the packing case 3. On a part of the outside upper lid flap 35 of the packing case 3, the top face recession 35c is so formed as to be recessed to be lower than the flat upper face of the outside upper lid flap 35. In the upper face recession 35c, the handle takeout opening 35d is so formed as to open toward the inside of the packing case 3 to expose the handle 2 of the storage battery 1.
