PURPOSE: To wrap a long-sized article in a heat-shrinkable film in small looseness by a method wherein the heat-shrinkable film is pulled back in specified length in a state in which the retreat of the continuous length is regulated up to a position adjacent to a welding member, a welding member on the upper side is lowered until it abuts against a welding member on the lower side, the heat-shrinkable film is welded and cut on the rear side of the long-sized article, and the heat-shrinkable film is delivered from a lower section with the elevation of the welding member on the lower side.

CONSTITUTION: A heat-shrinkable film 8 is pulled back in a state in which the retreat of a long-sized article A is regulated up to a position adjacent to a welding member 6 on the lower side by a hold-down member 11. A welding member on the upper side is lowered until it abuts against the welding member on the lower side and the heat-shrinkable film is welded and cut on the rear side of the long-sized article in the next film cutting process. The welding member 6 on the lower side is lowered as the hold-down member 11 is left as it is brought down while the welding member 7 on the upper side is lifted and both welding members 6, 7 are separated in the next welding-member separating process. The heat- shrinkable film 8 is delivered from a lower roller 10 with the elevation of the welding member 6 on the lower side in a welding-member lifting process.
