Abstract:
To provide a method for specifying a black/white page in a series of color documents.
A small part of color data of a page is checked so as to specify whether the part corresponds to a black/white page or a full color page. This method checks a relative size of a color decomposition compression negative of the page. A page discriminated to be a black/white page is printed out in a black/white mode and the full color page is printed out in a full color mode.
