PURPOSE: To reduce collision noise or abnormal sound generated when paper collides against a reversing curved face in a reversing guide member by means of simple constitution.

CONSTITUTION: A paper feeder is provided with a mounting table 5 on which paper 2 is placed, a paper feeding roller 3 feeding the paper 1 placed on the mounting table 5 in the preset direction, and a reversing guide member 8 provided with a substantially recessed reversing curved face 81 reversing the feeding direction of the paper 1. An auxiliary guide member 15 rotating so as to project/ retract to/from the vicinity of the reversing curved face 81 in the reversing guide member 8 is arranged. The auxiliary guide member 15 is rotated so as to project from a retraction position toward the reversing curved face 81 by means of conveying force of the paper 1 conveyed by means of the paper feeding roller 3, and the rear end of the paper 1 is pressed so as to be guided in the direction, in which the end part of the paper 1 is separated from the reversing curved face 81, by means of its own elastic force when the paper 1 passes through the reversing curved face 81.
