To color a paper money by a method wherein a sensor detects the orientation of a cylinder so that a suitable valve is selected and opened, whereby even if a trunk is oriented in any directions, a coloring agent can be surely emitted.

There are provided a sensing mechanism 3 which senses that a trunk 1 is opened abnormally or broken forcibly, a pressure type cylinder 5 which is disposed in the trunk 1 to store a coloring agent, a sensor 15 which coacts with the mechanism 3 to sense the orientation of the cylinder 5, a plurality of valves which are arranged on the cylinder 5 to cause it to emit the coloring agent in any directions of the cylinder 5 and which are selectively opened by the sensor 15, and a nozzle piping 16 which is disposed in the trunk 1, in communication with each of the valves, to spray the coloring agent on paper moneys 2, whereby the sensor 15 senses the orientation of the cylinder 5 to select and open a suitable valve.
