To provide a paper for wallpaper not only readily peelable during repapering, but also leaving a uniform paper layer on the wall surface after peeling and easily newly pasted from the upper part thereof even without especially carrying out surface treatment and affording an excellent volume feeling.
The paper for wallpaper is characterized by laminating backing paper onto the side of a supporting layer of multilayered paper composed of at least one bulky pulp layer consisting essentially of bulky pulp and at least one supporting layer consisting essentially of natural pulp as upper-layer paper. The paper has P1>P3≥P2 when the interfacial peel strength between the backing paper and the supporting layer of the upper-layer paper is P1, the interfacial peel strength between the supporting layer of the upper-layer paper and the bulky pulp layer is P2 and the interlaminar peel strength in the interior of the bulky pulp layer in the upper-layer pulp is P3.
