PURPOSE: To manufacture a parallel winding drum, in which turbulent winding is hard to be generated, at a low cost by using a machine, which is ordinarily used.
CONSTITUTION: A cylindrical member 8 for drum is formed with grooves 4 in parallel with a flange 2 of a drum 1, and a part of this cylindrical member 8 for drum, which corresponds to a shift part 7 formed with inclined grooves 6, is cut off. After forming a plate 11 with the inclined grooves 6, this plate 11 is bent at a curvature of the cylindrical member 8, and fitted in the opening part, which is formed by cutting-off a part of the cylindrical member 8, so that the parallel grooves 4 and the inclined grooves 6 correspond with each other, and the cylindrical member 8 and the plate 11 are fixed to each other by welding or the like. In this case, since the parallel grooves 4 can be processed by an ordinary lathe and the inclined grooves 6 can be processed by an ordinary cutting machine, a parallel winding drum can be manufactured at a low cost.
