Abstract:
To provide a parking support device and a parking support method which enable a vehicle to get over a step more easily by making use of approaching.SOLUTION: A parking support device PS according to the invention which is a device that stops a vehicle in a predetermined space by moving the vehicle in a longitudinal direction using a communication terminal for transmitting a control signal to the vehicle, comprises: a step detecting part 122 that detects whether or not there is a step in an advancing direction when moving the vehicle; a movement stopping part 123 that moves the vehicle by a predetermined distance in the opposite direction to the advancing direction and then stops the movement, when the step detecting part 122 detects that there is a step; and a movement resuming part 125 that resumes the movement so that the vehicle can get over the step when receiving the control signal from the communication terminal after the movement stopping part 123 stops the movement.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
