Abstract:

PURPOSE: To reduce the number of sewing spots and to reduce a manufacturing cost of an air bag by a method wherein both ends of a cylindrical hollow weave fabric are closed in a joined singlet texture zone in a shape having two or more sides interconnected at an obtuse angle to form a partial singlet weave bag product.

CONSTITUTION: A partial singlet weave bag product 1 is formed with a fabric 2 on the surface side and a fabric 3 on the back side, both formed by a cylindrical hollow weave, and edge parts 4a and 4b positioned facing each other are closed at the hollow weave edge part of the cylindrical hollow weave fabric itself. Both ends are closed by joined singlet texture zones 5 and 6. The joined singlet texture zones 5 and 6 are formed in a shape formed with three sides 5a, 5b, and 5c and 6a, 6b, and 6c, respectively, and bent at an obtuse angle. As a result, a bag product is formed in an octagonal shape and used as an air bag, and when gas is introduced in the inside, the air bag is inflated in a shape approximately similar to a circular shape. This constitution manufactures a bag product, which is reduced in the number of sewing spots and increased in burst durability, at a low cost.
