Abstract:
PURPOSE: To prepare the titled catalyst comprising a solid ultra-strong acid, by baking a hydrogel generated by the hydrolysis of an Al-alkoxide compound to obtain alumina which is used as a substrate and by treating it with chlorotrifluoromethane under heating.
CONSTITUTION: A hydrogel generated by the hydrolysis of an Al-alkoxide compound such as Al-isoproxide is baked at 500W700°C to obtain alumina. Thus prepared alumina substrate is treated with chlorotrifluoromethane CF3Cl at 400W450°C. As the result, a partially fluorinated alumina catalyst having acidity stronger than that of 100% sulfuric acid is obtained.
